Privacy policy

This policy describes the Passet app for iPhone under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian law. Use this URL as the privacy policy in App Store Connect. The devben.app website is separate and is covered only in its own section.

Controller

Controller: Benito Massidda (DevBen). Email: dev.benito.massidda@gmail.com. Site: https://www.devben.app/apps/passet. Support: https://www.devben.app/apps/passet/support.

What we do not collect

The Passet app has no account, no server, and no analytics or advertising SDK. DevBen does not receive photos, scans, PDFs, read text, codes, passes or device identifiers. The app does not track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Data that stays on the iPhone

To build a pass, the app reads a photo, a scan or a PDF you choose: a pass, a ticket, a card or a coupon. Extracted text, codes and saved passes stay in the app's storage on the device. If a reading model is installed, it runs on the device. Uninstalling Passet removes that data with the app. You can also delete a single pass from the library.

Permissions

Camera: to photograph or scan a pass, a ticket, a card or a coupon. Photo library: to pick an image already on the phone. Files: to open a PDF. Those files stay on the device. Apple Wallet receives a pass only when you choose Add to Wallet. If you share it, you send it yourself to whoever you want. Passet does not send the file to a DevBen server.

In-app purchase

The app is free. Creating a pass from one photo, one scan or one PDF is free, including the front and the back of the same pass. Reading, adding to Apple Wallet and sharing are not charged. Creating several passes from several photos or files at once requires the non-consumable purchase dev.passify.bulk, once, processed by Apple. It is not a subscription. The App Store and TestFlight require the purchase. Only the Simulator and development installs may already be unlocked. DevBen does not receive the card number or payment details. Apple handles that purchase under its own privacy policy. With the same Apple Account you can restore it with Restore purchase.

Data sent

The app does not send personal data, diagnostics or pass contents to DevBen. There is no tracking. Photos and documents are not transmitted to DevBen. Purchases are processed by Apple and are not data Passet sends to DevBen.

Website

This policy covers the app. The website www.devben.app, where this page is published, may ask consent for optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. Those cookies are not part of the Passet app, are not active in the app, and are not linked to passes saved on the iPhone. You can refuse them in the site banner.

Legal basis

On-device processing is needed to perform the service you ask for (GDPR art. 6.1.b): read the photo, the scan or the PDF and prepare the pass. DevBen does not keep a copy of that data.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability where the law provides them, by writing to dev.benito.massidda@gmail.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (garanteprivacy.it). Data on the phone is removed by uninstalling the app or deleting the pass in the library.

Children

Passet is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect children's data. The in-app purchase follows the Apple Account rules, including Family Sharing limits for children.

Changes

If the processing changes, we update this page and the date above. The version published at this address is the one that applies to the App Store.
